Book Summary:
She Stood by Me by Tarun Vikash, so Tarun is a software professional who was into the theater during his college days and he bagged many prizes when he got into his job he realized that he has a knack to tell stories
So he wrote the debut novel she stood by me which is a love story of Aparna Abhishek Aparna is an upper-middle-class girl who is ambitious and wants to prove herself to the world
She wants to focus on her career while Abhishek is a lower-middle-class guy who's very shy he falls in love with Aparna at first sight but he's unable to communicate his feelings to her finally
When he gets the courage to do that how does he do that what drama creates around it how does a printer react to that please read the book moving on to when they get into a relationship due to their jobs
They have to move away from each other how do they handle this long-distance relationship what are the struggles they face will they be able to get their happy ending when their parents get to know will
They accept their inter-caste marriage or the class difference for all of this you will have to read the book as you can see there is a lot of drama already in it when i received the book from the author
I really like the cover of the book I also like the tagline which says love is not a relationship I sense that it's gonna talk about the modern-day struggles of a couple and then
I read the prologue is quite interesting Aparna is in hospital and Abhishek is going to meet her the cab driver Ganesh asks him to narrate his story and I was interested in knowing his love story
So I think the prologue did its job well it created the curiosity in me to know their story as I already said that there are many filmy moments cheesy moments like you know Karan johar movies or Indian television series between the guy and the girl
So which we all must be able to relate to because we all must have thought about it between you know you between yourself and your crush you think about it in the teenage years you must have come on come on no only me the other thing
What I liked is the struggles of long-distance relationships show the trust issues not being able to take out time for each other and the fights due to all of this do happen in a long-distance relationship
The author has portrayed it in the book I would have liked the book more if there was better character development it felt like they were teenagers from day one till the end of the book
I was waiting for them to grow up the other thing that would have made the book more engaging is better editing if some parts were edited and you know not unnecessarily stretched the book would be more engaging the pace will be faster the language is pretty easy to understand
so I'll recommend it to beginners the people who are looking for a typical Indian love story or who love happy endings or who are looking for a casual read as it's a debut novel the author has done a decent job.
