Funny you should ask by Elissa Sussman, Elissa Sussma is a why a novelist and this is her first adult novel I would describe this book as kind of light fluffy entertaining rom-com-ish
the novel's about the writer johnny Horowitz she finished her MFA degree she's writing kind of lightweight pieces for celebrity magazines and stuff like that so
she's hired to write an article about the new James bond and its movie star Gabe parker the interview turns into a kind of a weekend with Gabe johnny writes the article it becomes a kind of famous it goes viral stuff of legends etc
now then we move 10 years later Chinese divorced Gabe's divorced Gabe was in rehab johnny's back in Los Angeles after living in new york for 10 years
she's got a really successful career as a writer but sometimes she wonders if is it because of this interview she did with Gabe 10 years ago
whenever she's trying to market or talk about something she's written people are always asking about this interview
so Gabe's pr team Gabe's trying for a comeback he was in rehab Gabe's pr team tries to suggest that he and chani reunite for a second interview
and they retrace their steps together in la kind of like what's that movie before sunset or before sunrise
the novel alternates between the past and the present and it covers issues like fame and relationships between people obviously success is older and wiser different parts of the story are delivered as interviews blog posts articles reviews
so it makes for interesting reading it's almost like kind of an epistolary novel but not really I liked it nothing too heavy duty but give it a try.
