Book Review:

Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young this book so Fable fantastic great writing style but this one this one is so slow and it still feels young adult this is most people consider this a contemporary fiction book 

It is based in Seattle or around Seattle it's actually it's actually based in the fictional island just off of the coast of Seattle now this the storytelling is is good it's not amazing and I almost dnf'd 

This book literally it is just dragged it's a slog for 75 of the book and it's just like and I kept just just debating like should I finish this this is going nowhere I I just I just didn't enjoy it and when it got to the end it was just meh 

Yeah I just I wasn't Blown Away there's so many flashbacks going back and forth back and forth to kind of build the history of the story and it's just jarring it was very jarring so most of the character views are in first person 

I don't know if it's just a personal opinion but stories told in first person through multiple people I just don't like it I it it just rubs me the wrong way and then every now and then they throw another chapter told by somebody else at third person 

I just went back and forth back and forth and I I just didn't like it and it just rubs me the wrong way the writing is good the writing I mean the writing's good the story just it just didn't grab me and to make it 75 of the way through before 

It really like gets a hold of me is it's it that's not good enough especially for an established author so I'm going to give this book A C minus 

I just I didn't enjoy it and it breaks my heart because she's a fantastic author uh author I really enjoy there it is I I didn't want to do any spoilers in case you still want to read the book so pick it up and see what you think 

I don't think my opinion is going to be the majority opinion I think it's just some things that hit me the wrong way with this book so read it fast.
